New Self-Employed Blacksmith Comes to Leamington Spa To Revive The Old Craft

Hudson Hammerworks is bringing the old art of blacksmithing back to communities like Leamington Spa.


Conor Hudson has started his own business dedicated to bringing hand-crafted, hand-forged tools, wares, jewellery and decorations to those who value unique design.


Conor has been blacksmithing for seven years, having been drawn to the world of historical crafts and ironwork. He opened his own workshop in 2025 and has entered the historical re-enactor's market as well as the Sikh sword culture, making a name for himself in the industry.


Working from a small workshop, Conor has had to learn to make efficient use of space, fitting a mixture of traditional and modern metalworking tools into this 9-square meter workshop. All products are hanfinished with the traditional soul of the craft.


The challenges of starting a business in this day and age are well known. But it is apparant that Conor has something truly unique to offer, approaching his work with the mindset of a historical craftsman. Hudson Hammerworks has found success within a year of opening in communities like Leamington Spa and Stratford-Upon-Avon where history plays a significant part in town culture.


One of the swords designed and forged by Hudson Hammerworks was used in a demonstration and display at the Battle of Evesham festival. Conor's sword was chosen based on its historical accuracy in both appearance and feel.

Hudson Hammerworks now works with the Sikh Community in partnership with Fateh Forge in the West Midlands, restoring and creating beautiful ceremonial swords.


The one-man business also takes ironwork commissions for items such as home decorations, candle accessories, gate accessories, jewellery and pendants. His line of Valentine's Day love pendants was particularly popular in February, 2026. key racks also became a website bestseller.


Hudson Hammerworks is the place to go for those who love history, value hand-crafted original designs and want to support small, independent businesses in the community who offer something big companies and corporations just can't.
